The INHOUSE SPARRING COMPETITIONS are events held at The Boxing Shop periodically throughout the year, and are open to all current Members of The Boxing Shop. This is YOUR opportunity to test yourself against an opponent of similar skill and experience in the ring, and in a safe, open environment.
These events are to give all our members an opportunity to learn more about boxing as a sport. In fact, the participants will also be trained in scoring correctly and may be required to assist in the scoring of other bouts.
There will be a number of bouts on the day pre arranged by Gareth Williams, Head Coach of The Boxing Shop. Opponents are fairly determined be weight, age and experience, and all participants must have some previous sparring experienced supervised by our trainers.
There will be a winner announced for each bout so please come along and support your mates. All participants are awarded with a trophy or medal once the bout has been scored by the judges.
It can be the scariest thing in the world to step into the ring for the first time to compete. Your encouragment will be much appreciated!
The competition fees and all supporter donations received will go directly towards hosting regular events and supporting the efforts of our Boxing Team. Of course, there are Rules and Guidelines which can be found here or at reception along with registration fees.
