Once again the Fine people of New Caledonia have invited us to take part in their annual boxing gala.
Our team consists of Head Coach Gareth Williams, Manager Seru Whippy,57kg Matilda Shaw, 60kg Mitchell Coomer, 64kg Kosta Scrapis, 69kg Jorge Kapeen, 75kg Jack Bowen, 81L Tyson Den Hoedt and 91kg+ Nigel Tuapola.
Last night the team arrived at 11 pm and we’re taken directly to the fine hotel de central.
This morning started with a 6.15am wake up call and a weight check in the coaches room.
With a few factors including the late flight and arriving too late to do some light excercise, some of the team had to shift 2kg to make the agreed weight.
The team got stuck into work and worked very hard to show respect to the hosting nation by making the agreed fighting weight.
With the weigh in over and a well earned meal the team are now awaiting the bus to the fight venue.
There is a crowd of up to 1500 spectator’s expected tonight and tomorrow, so our guys will certainly gain some valuable experience boxing in front of the large crowd.
