16 Mar Fiji Commonwealth games Preparation Camp
Gareth Williams will work directly with the Fijian coaches and athletes to help them in their quest for Commonwealth games success at the Gold Coast in April.
Williams said “Its a great honour to be asked to work with the Fijian team, they are all naturally skilled and could go along way in the future, unfortunately there isn’t a lot of competition for boxers in Fiji so to have them based in Brisbane for a short time has been great for their development.

THE Fiji boxing squad to the Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast will be coached by an Australian.
He is Gareth Williams.
Fiji Amateur Boxing Association (FABA) president Manasa Baravilala said Williams was one of the top coaches in Australia.
“He is an AIBA level three coach and a former Commonwealth Games boxing coach.
“We provide the best to the athletes and they have been training hard for the competition.”
The three-member squad and student Christopher Zoing is in Brisbane for a week’s training before returning home on Sunday.
The squad is made up of Winston Hill, Jone Koroilagilagi Davule, and Nathan Singh.
The team had been at Papua New Guinea since last week to compete in the Tri-Nations Series at Port Moresby.
Hill and Singh won their bouts while the other pair lost.
Zoing, is preparing for the Youth Olympics in Argentina later in the year.
Meanwhile, Hill and Davule have been selected to compete at the games while Singh and Zoing are the non-travelling reserves.
