16 Jan Romer given World recognition in Boxing Coaching
Shara Romer, Head female coach at The Boxing Shop in Brisbane has put in years of hard work in what is still seen as a Mans world by most, to become a Star 1 level International Boxing Coach.
Romer underwent a rigorous testing procedure in 2014 that was conducted by former GB head Coach Terry Edwards who was Amir Khans national Coach when he won the Olympic games silver medal as a 17 year old in Athens.
Shara‘s AIBA Star 1 coaching accreditation now allows her to take Australian Teams overseas in International tournaments.
Shara‘s girls train in an intensive program at 6am every morning, not to mention 2 evening sessions of Boxing and Strength and conditioning training thrown is too.
“Ïf the girls want to reach the top of this sport they must be dedicated and determined, without these qualities, the dreams wont come true” she said, “we have a great group of girls in the team who are well balanced, they know the difference between work time and play time”.
